The Squeamer was very honoured to talk to author of one of the biggest best sellers of the last decade Markus Zusak’s and his book now made into a film: The Book Thief !
Markus talks about his experiences growing up in Sydney and being the child of European immigrants who had left the post war hardship of Germany and Austria. He chats about his The Book Thief and how profoundly it has changed his life, why he chose Death as the narrator and ‘voice’ of the young adult fiction adventure. The Book Thief has now been made into a major motion picture, starring Aussie icon Geoffrey Rush, and was released in Australia January 9, 2014.
